Attached you will find a list of the co-curricular activities offered at John Sweeney for the 2018-19 school year. Thank you to all Staff for giving their time to support students in a number of clubs and sports events throughout the school year. Without your support, these opportunities would not be available for students.
The clock is ticking and our Poinsettia fundraiser is almost complete. The last day for orders is November 21. If we reach our goal of $7500 we will be giving a double recess block on a nice weather day :), names will be drawn for a student to be principal for the day and special treat to all students in the school. Attached are the order forms for the campaign.
It’s that time of year where the weather is unpredictable and often cold, wet and very rainy. Due to this we are asking ALL students (students in grades JK through to grade 8) to please pack extra socks, pants and shirts into backpacks. We would like to keep the phone calls out to parents to a minimum when it comes to coming into the school to give children a new set of clothes. To be proactive, we are asking that all students please have extra clothing in their backpack at all times. Thank you for your assistance with this; it’s greatly appreciated.
The bus for route number 172 had a mechanical issue. A new bus is on it’s way. Students should be home within the next 45 minutes.
School Council is excited to announce our 2018 Poinsettia Fundraiser. All proceeds will directly benefit students across the school. Our fundraising efforts will allow us to support our school’s newest, multi year project; a shade garden with mature trees and seating area in the school’s yard where students will be able to enjoy a peaceful and shaded place to gather during the outdoors. Our goal for the fundraiser is $7500. Please reach out to your contacts to help us make this a successful campaign. Teachers will send home the pledge form and the fundraiser information tomorrow with students.
