Ontario Dress Purple Day – Thursday, October 24, 2019

Every October Children’s Aid Societies across the province raise awareness about the role that adults and communities play in supporting vulnerable children, youth, and families. On Ontario Dress Purple Day, we partner with boards of education, schools, and child care to speak up for every child and youth’s right to safety and well-being in all spaces and to celebrate the community that cares for kids.

2019-2020 Thanksgiving Food Drive – Reminder

A friendly reminder,

John Sweeney’s Thanksgiving Food Drive begins with you!

The service to the needy in our parish, offered by our Blessed Sacrament Parish St. Vincent de Paul Society, has increased dramatically again this year. To date they have made 748 calls. Their supplies are very low! The Food Bank is also very low in supplies. Blessed Sacrament’s request for dry good food from the Food Bank is currently limited, often to one fourth in quantity. This further limits the help our parish can offer those right here in our John Sweeney school community. They need donated food in the very near future in order to continue this service to the needy in our area.

Please help and be generous!

We will be collecting food until the end of this week, Friday October 11, 2019.

The food will be delivered to the parish and will support many in this time of Thanksgiving!

Our Food Drive Top Ten
